Woman Arrested For Making Meth Inside Walmart

A woman was arrested in a Tulsa Walmart late Thursday afternoon while allegedly attempting to make meth from items she had gathered in the store, police said. Walmart security watched the woman, who was acting suspiciously and made her way to the back of the store near restrooms, where she began mixing ingredients, Tulsa police Cpl. Scott Anderson said. Police arrested Alisha Halfmoon, 45, about 6 p.m. after Walmart security personnel called 911 to the store near 81st Street and Lewis Avenue, jail records show. Halfmoon was booked without bond on complaint of endeavoring to manufacture, records show. “From what they told us, it was pretty strange,” Anderson said. One officer may have burned by sulfuric acid that had resulted from a chemical reaction in the box of items taken from the scene, Anderson said.” w/ photo

Museum Scared To Open Ancient Wine Bottle

Scientists want to study samples of the world’s oldest wine, currently on display at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate in the western German city of Speyer. There’s just one problem: everyone’s afraid to open the bottle. The glass bottle, thought to be at least 1,650 years old, was found in a Roman grave near Speyer in 1867 and put on display at the museum. Since then, it’s been handled extremely carefully, and been on display in the exact same spot in the museum for 100 years. Museum directors fear that a moment’s carelessness could shatter the bottle, destroying its priceless content. Though scientists would like to test it to figure out exactly how old the wine is and where it comes from, as well as perhaps seeing how it tastes – cracking it open is out of the question. “It’s not clear what would happen if air gets into the wine,” said Ludger Tekampe, who heads the department responsible for storing it. There’s also the danger that, after all this time, it could have become poisonous, although scientists suspect the alcohol would not be dangerous, but just taste disgusting.” w/ photo

Top 25 Ways To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

“It’s the latest buzz word being thrown around by everyone from politicians to college kids but what exactly is it? Well, roughly defined it’s the amount of green house gas emitted by a person or population over a certain period of time. To make a long story short, the more of these gasses that we let into the atmosphere, the worse it is for the environment. Before moving onto the list, however, we would like to point out that no matter what your stance is on global warming/climate change these ideas at least stand the chance of saving you money. Most of them don’t take that much effort and at the end of the month you may notice less coming out of your bank account to pay for utilities.” w/ photos
