Mini-Golf Course Car

Car nut John McArthur has the ultimate green motor after turning his Skoda into a mini-golf course – and he doesn’t even play the game himself. The 22-year-old has covered the Felicia with fake grass from bumper to bonnet, complete with flag on the roof and a bunker. ‘My youngest sister, Sarah, will not get in the car, she said: ‘‘I am not going in that, I would not go in it even if I was dead,’’ said Mr McArthur.‘But my friends who have been in the car love it and say people just stare at it when I am driving around. I have seen people taking pictures and then ask me about it.’ The film extra was hunting for a replacement for his Renault Megane Scenic when he spotted his dream car on auction website eBay. He drove away with the converted Skoda at a bargain price of $492.” w/ photos

Top 7 Coral Reefs Made From Sunken Vehicles

“Today pollution, disease and overfishing are all hitting coral reefs hard, and many face a precarious future. However, while mankind might be pushing many of the coral reefs around the world to the point of destruction, we have also been responsible for creating new ones, whether by design or by accident! Indeed, whenever new shapes arrive in the depths, coral will gradually begin to collect, bringing with it a flowering miniature ecosystem. Here are seven such artificial reefs shaped from the wrecks of vehicles, each of which has become a truly spectacular underwater environment!” w/ photos

Woman Eats Sand As A Remedy

A 70-year-old woman in northern India’s state of Uttar Pradesh has been eating about two kilograms of sand everyday for the past 40 years and has not reported any health problems because of this rare habit. “I am eating sand for the past 40 years. There is my habit and there is no problem with me due to this,” said Krishnavati. The rare thing is that she did not have any problem in her stomach or with her health even after consuming this much amount of sand. Initially, Krishnavati’s family members were worried about her rare habit, thinking that it would cause serious illness to her. But as she remained healthy, even they started encouraging her by bringing sand from market. “I have been noticing that she is eating about 2 kilograms of sand daily. Many times, she asked us to get her sand from shop. She eats it and is not having any difficulty due to this. She is healthy even now,” said Suryanath, Krishnavati’s neighbor. Doctors say that this is a psychological illness and need to be treated.” w/ photo + video

Largest Prehistoric Shark Jaw

It makes the Great White shark in Jaws look like a goldfish. But this giant prehistoric shark jaw comes from the largest predator ever to have existed on Earth. The 53-ft long Megalodon shark, which died out 1.5million years ago, was once the true king of the ocean, weighing an awesome 100 tons. It took famed fossil hunter Vito ‘Megalodon’ Bertucci almost 20 years to reconstruct the jaw, the largest ever assembled and which measures 11ft across and is almost 9ft tall. The late Mr Bertucci found fragments of the ferocious species in the rivers of South Carolina. The jaw set is composed of 182 fossil teeth, some over seven inches long and is expected to sell for $700,000 at a sale by Heritage Auctions in Dallas, Texas, on 12 June. Megalodon ruled the temperate and warm waters of all the oceans between 25million and 1.5million years ago.” w/ photos

Black Ops IRL

“2011 Florida State IDPA Championship hat-cam. Here is my run at the match filmed with my Contour HD mounted to my hat. The stages are show (I think) in the order my squad shot them in. I’m using my Glock 35 with Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight. Holster is a Comp-tac and mag pouches were built by a friend of mine. The match was held at the Wyoming Antelope Club in Pinellas Park, FL.” — 1341usmc
