Tipping Teacups

Inclined to have a cup of tea? This 2011 Red Dot Design winner will turn your break into a meditative escape, steeped in contemporary style. The teacup has an unusual angled bottom that allows it to rest in two different positions. On one side is a screened compartment in which you place your favorite loose tea leaves. Pour hot water through the screen and allow it to steep. Once it’s done, simply tip the cup in the other direction, lifting the leaves up out of the water. The cup’s large size is perfect for cradling between your hands as you enjoy the warmth of your drink. Screen is removable for simple clean-up.” w/ photos

Loaf Of Bread Saves Woman’s Life

“The white sliced loaf flew out of her shopping bag on the back seat and became wedged between her head and the roof of the car after she hit a telegraph pole and lost control. The $1.52 Hovis Soft White was still in place when firefighters arrived to cut her from the wreckage an hour later. The 51-year-old from Stronachlachar, Stirling, escaped with minor cuts and bruises but managed to write off her Nissan Note. The mother-of-two said: ‘It stopped my head hitting the top of the car, and saved my life. ‘For some reason, the airbags didn’t inflate so the loaf was the only cushion I had. ‘I’ve written Hovis an email to say thank you. I’ll always feel a certain loyalty to it now.” w/ photo

Beethoven For Elephants

“I took my piano to the mountains of Kanchanaburi to play for some very old, injured and handicapped elephants, especially a blind elephant Plara immediately behind the piano. Elephant-lovers please rest-assured – all keys on modern pianos are made from synthetic plastic material and have been manufactured this way for some considerable time. Plara arrived at breakfast time and stopped munching the juicy grass when he heard music, so, perhaps he was listening… These elephants live in peaceful natural surroundings with specialized care at ‘Elephant’s World’ Kanchanaburi.” — PaulBarton

How To Make S’mores Whoopie Pies

“Luckily I made these delicious s’mores whoopie pies a couple weeks ago for a baking contest at work and I never got a chance to blog about them. Well I may not have won, came in second, but these whoopie pies were a huge success. It was great watching people’s faces as they would a take a bite into a whoopie pie and their eye brows would raise and be amazed at how delicious they were. And they were, once you would start eating one, you could not stop at just one, so if you are a big fan of s’mores you must try these whoopie pies.” w/ photos

Top 13 Greatest Lip Syncing FAILs

“Now, there are some cases where lip syncing could be acceptable. First, if you are making a music video since there is no way to perform live and have it turn out sounding good. We’ll even let it slide for those singers who actually dance *a lot* and perform in their acts like Michael Jackson, since there is no way, during their higher energy numbers, that they can possibly get enough breath to push out the song and they don’t want to disappoint their fans. Perfectly fine. The issue comes in when you are using the backing track just so you don’t have to do your job. It’s lazy and unprofessional. What’s even worse is when they do it poorly. The list [here] is the worst cases of lip syncing caught on tape and put on the web.” w/ videos
