Dad Arrested After Daughter Draws Picture Of Gun

A Kitchener father is angry at police after he was arrested at his child’s school and later strip-searched at the police station, all because his 4-year-old daughter drew a picture of a gun in class. “I’m picking up my kids and then, next thing you know, I’m locked up,” Jessie Sansone, 26, said of his ordeal on Wednesday. “I was in shock. This is completely insane.” The school principal, police and child welfare officials, however, all stand by their actions. They say they had to investigate to determine whether there was a gun in Sansone’s house that children had access to. “From a public safety point of view, any child drawing a picture of guns and saying there’s guns in a home would warrant some further conversation with the parents and child,” said Alison Scott, executive director of Family and Children’s Services. Waterloo Regional Police Insp. Kevin Thaler said there was a complaint from Forest Hills Public School that “a firearm was in a residence and children had access to it. We had every concern, based on this information, that children were in danger.” w/ photo

Woman Eats Nothing But Pizza For 31 Years

What Claire suffers from is actually known as Selective Eating Disorder. Experts say she’s on the road to killing herself with her diet. But she disagrees. According to Claire, she keeps herself healthy by drinking plenty of water and getting lots of exercise. This doesn’t convince her GP however, who says that if she keeps this up, the lack of vitamins and minerals will lead to huge problems in the future, such as a stroke or heart attack. Claire can’t help it though, given that she’s terrified of eating fruits and vegetables. ‘I get so angry when people think I’m being faddy – this is a real medical condition,’ she says. She does seem to have made it through 31 years on just pizza, and is still going strong. I wonder how she isn’t sick of the stuff, though.” w/ photo

Pregnant Woman’s Odd Newspaper Cravings

A pregnant woman has told how she has developed a ‘bizarre craving’ for eating her local newspaper. Ann Curran, 35, of Dundee, munches her way through copies of the Dundee Evening Telegraph. She says it is the only ‘only newsprint with the proper flavor’ and that she “stashes shredded copies in her handbag for emergency snacks’. Ms Curran said: “I could be sitting in the bingo hall and I’ll start ripping out pages of the newspaper. “All the people look at me going, ‘What is she doing?’. I tear the white bits off the edges of the pages and keep them in a bag so I can eat them while I’m shopping.” w/ photo

New World’s Shortest Man?

Porsche Drive Gets Into Sticky Situation

A man driving a Porsche in San Francisco was frozen in an embarrassing situation when he got stuck in a patch of fresh cement. The driver stayed inside the car the entire time, saying that he wanted to avoid the cement flowing into the interior. Another reason to stay inside was to avoid the ensuing embarrassment that he rightly deserved.” w/ photos

World’s Tallest Pancake Stack?

Australian chef Andy Wrobel battered his way into the world record books on Shrove Tuesday, after claiming the title for the world’s tallest stack of pancakes. Culinary expert Andy beat a 2008 record set in Croatia after building a 29-inches-tall stack of 60 delicious treats at the Pancake Parlour in Melbourne. The leaning tower of pancakes eventually toppled over, but only after the record was confirmed by Guinness officials. The chef flips over 100,000 pancakes every year at the popular restaurant where he has been working for over 25 years. Andy admitted a lot of hard work has gone into beating last year’s effort, revealing to local broadcaster ABC: ‘We tried last year and we got to 24-inches and did pretty well. ‘We thought we’d give it another go and this year we actually did it.” w/ photo

He is currently residing at Taylor and Marshall vets in Shifnal High Street. The skunk was taken there by members of the public. Julianne Berry, from the practice which handles exotic animals, said: ‘He’s definitely a pet, he’s very, very friendly and easy to handle.” w/ photo
