Man Had Knife Buried In Face For 4 Years

Mugging victim Mir Li suffered terrible headaches for four years – then doctors discovered a 4in blade buried in his skull… Crooks robbed and stabbed 37-year-old Mr Li when he was working as a taxi driver. The knife they used had snapped at the handle and the blade was left embedded – and hidden – between his skull and ear. Mr Li had no idea that it was there but had complained about splitting headaches for years before visiting specialist medics at the Yuxi People’s Hospital in Yunnan province, south west China. A spokesman for the hospital said: ‘He came to us with a long history of severe head pain and unexplained bleeding from his ears and mouth. As soon as we scanned him it was obvious what was wrong. ‘What is astonishing is that is was missed four years ago and that he has survived all this time with it in his head. We’ve seen needles and small objects buried in a skull but never something this size.” w/ photo + video

118 Dogs Found Living In Their Own Waste

“When rescuers saved this three-year-old Scottish terrier from the small, stench-filled house where he had been kept along with more than 100 others, he was in a sorry state. But after just two days of love and care – and a good wash and brush – he looks like a completely different dog, with a new name to match: Montgomery. Little Monty was one of 118 malnourished dogs found living in two feet of feces, urine and rubbish in a squalid house in Medina County, Ohio after neighbors reported ceaseless barking and foul odors coming from the alleged illicit breeding facility. Its owners, Glenda Curtis, 54 and her daughter Danielle Tschappat, 27, each now face 20 charges of animal cruelty and failing to give them food and water – second-degree misdemeanors which could result in a jail term.” w/ photos

Frog Eats Frog

Bullfrogs don’t mess about when they’re hungry – and even cannibalism isn’t ruled out. This huge chap appeared out of a swimming pool duct in Maryland, USA, with a pair of legs sticking out of his mouth that quite clearly belonged to one of his cousins. Husband and wife Tad and Karen Bacon saw the greedy amphibian swallowing a smaller member of his species while cleaning their pool. And they quickly managed to capture the bizarre sight on camera before the bullfrog jumped back into the water to devour the rest of his meal. Karen, 50, said: ‘I heard my husband screaming ‘Get your camera, you are not going to believe this!’ ‘When I go over to him I was stunned by what I saw. It made me a bit squeamish and totally fascinated at the same time. I still have a hard time looking at the picture. ‘All I kept thinking was how did he get something that large in his mouth. ‘I was only able to get off a few shots before he jumped into the bottom of the pool.” w/ photos

World Record For Most Fingers And Toes

A one-year-old girl from China has set a new world record for having the most fingers and toes on any living person… Lei Yadi Min, residing in the South Okkalarpa township in Yangon with her mother and sister, has seven toes on each foot and six fingers on each hand – a total of 26 in all. The child is now awaiting official recognition of her feat (and hands) by world record authority Guinness in its 2012 Book of Records. Guinness currently recognises the record holders in this particular field as Pranamya Menaria and Devendra Harne. The two Indian children, aged five and 15 respectively, have both developed 12 fingers and 13 toes – 25 in all – as a result of polydactyly.” w/ photos

Luckiest Guy EVER!

“Bill Morgan’s luck changed last year after his heart stopped beating for 14 minutes and 38 seconds. The 37-year-old truck driver from Cranbourne said that when his heart started again he began a new life and an amazing run of good luck, capped yesterday when he won $250,000. Two weeks ago, Mr Morgan won a $27,000 car after buying the last Tatts scratch ticket in stock at his local newsagency at Cranbourne. Asked to re-enact his win yesterday at a stunt set up by Tattersall’s for the media, Mr. Morgan scratched the panels on a $5 ticket, paled and said: “I just won $250,000.” Before bursting into tears, he said: “I think I’ll have another heart attack.”

Dog Survives Ride Stuck To Grill Of Car

Donald the dog who was driven along a dual carriageway stuck to the grill of a car for 20 miles has walked away with just a few scratches. Donald, a 14-year-old Jack Russell cross, wandered into the path of a Honda Civic as it travelled along a dual carriageway. The driver, who thought he had hit a fox, continued along the road at speeds of 60mph with Donald firmly stuck to the bonnet. He only made the startling discovery half an hour later as he pulled into his drive in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, in the early hours. ‘He heard barking and saw there was a dog stuck to the grille of his car,’ said a spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue. Crews released the pet using heavy cutting equipment and wrapped him up to keep him warm. After being checked over by vets, Donald has been reunited with his owner. ‘Amazingly, he has only suffered a few scratches and is eating and drinking like his normal, old self,’ said owner Ann Armett, 55, who lives near the A50 in Uttoxeter where Donald was picked up for his unexpected ride. She said Donald had disappeared after going outside on the drive to urinate. ‘Usually, he comes straight back but this time he never returned.” w/ photo
