The Walking Dead Theme (Metal Version)

“No two things go together better than killing zombies and heavy metal! I love the series, ‘The Walking Dead,’ so I thought I’d pay a little homage by metalizing the theme song from the TV show.” — ArtificialFear

The Hubos – Come Together

“Four of Drexel’s HUBO robots perform the Beatles’ ‘Come Together’ in a demonstration that combines cutting-edge engineering technology and research with creative expression, produced by the Music & Entertainment Technology Laboratory (MET-lab). The HUBOs are operating autonomously (not human-controlled). Their movements are directed by student-developed software to perform the gestures necessary to produce the appropriate notes and beats as dictated by a musical score. Every sound in the video was performed by the robots.” — DrexelEngineering

Mini Cannons

“.30 Caliber Firing And Destroying Targets. Amongst the world’s smallest working artillery. Our mini cannons hurl a powerful .30 caliber slingshot ball and are much easier to load and fire, ammo is available at most sporting goods stores such as Academy (5/16th steel ball). We have found the balance between size and power. Our cannons are small enough to fit in your pocket, but powerful enough to destroy anything you put in it’s path. We also include a ramrod and 3 steel balls with every cannon, as a starter or to put next to your mini cannon when it’s on display.” — miniartillery

The SOLElites

“These shoes are all hand made to order, which is very labor intensive. Not many people have these. Some include, Will I Am from Black Eyed Peas, Taboo from the same group, also Nickelodeon TV show ‘Fresh Beat Band’ which the episode aired. They have been sold to several people around the country and also in Germany. I also have worked on TRON Legacy lighting all of the helmets for that film and have worked on many films and commercials. This makes them VERY exclusive.” — ajcatalano

The Descriptive Camera

The Descriptive Camera works a lot like a regular camera—point it at subject and press the shutter button to capture the scene. However, instead of producing an image, this prototype outputs a text description of the scene. Modern digital cameras capture gobs of parsable metadata about photos such as the camera’s settings, the location of the photo, the date, and time, but they don’t output any information about the content of the photo. The Descriptive Camera only outputs the metadata about the content.” w/ photos

Giant Pyrosome

“Pyrosomes are pelagic tunicates or sea squirts. All species are open ocean animals that rarely come close to shore, and all are colonial. Pyrosomes are colonies of tiny animals that form hollow tubes sealed at one end – it can reach 96ft in length!” — EaglehawkDive

Superhydrophobic Finger

“By rubbing your finger with superhydrophobic aerogel powder you can make it superhydrophobic. Then, when sticking the finger into water no water droplet will stick on the finger. All water is completely repelled. A thin air layer forms between the finger and the water. This makes the finger shining silvery and looking cool. At the end of the video you can see the difference between the non-powdered part of the finger and the part of the finger which is superhydrophobic.” — InnovativeMaterials
