World’s Largest Pig In A Blanket

“Once I got the giant sausage home I got to work. I’d never had a pig in a blanket wrapped in bacon before, and seeing as how bacon makes everything better that was my first step. After that I wrapped it in Cheddar cheese and crescent roll dough and tossed it in the oven. I actually didn’t even have any bakeware big enough for this monster, so it ended up hanging over the edge of the baking sheet even when I placed it on there diagonally. To get a sense of just how big my pig in a blanket was I also made a regular one using a cocktail frank. As soon as my dinner was done cooking I immediately dug in. It was even better than I remembered! Then again, that could also be due to the bacon addition and the delicious Hungarian sausage from Bunzel’s. Oh yeah, I’d also like to point out that I have no idea whether or not this is actually the world’s largest pig in a blanket. I did a Google search and couldn’t find any that were larger than this, so until someone points me in the direction of a bigger one I’m going to continue to claim the title as mine.” w/ photos

Scrambled Egg & Waffle Breakfast Pizza

“I started off by cooking a Belgian waffle in my waffle maker, whipping up some scrambled eggs and some Hollandaise sauce on my stove and cooking some bacon and some maple syrup flavored breakfast sausages. Once everything was done I poured the Hollandaise sauce over my Belgian waffle and topped it with shredded mozzarella and Cheddar cheese, the scrabbled eggs, sausage and bacon chunks and some chopped up red and green peppers. Since everything was already pre-cooked I didn’t want to risk burning anything (especially the waffle) by putting it into the oven for too long, but I definitely wanted to get the cheese nice and gooey. I only ended up cooking it for seven minutes at 350 degrees, but that turned out to be the perfect amount of time as the breakfast pizza turned out amazing. Seriously, and I don’t mean to be narcissistic here, but for being a terrible cook I sometimes amaze myself with how good some of my random creations are.” w/ photos

Pancake Egg Burger

“In a way the Pancake Egg Burger is actually a healthier alternative to my Pancake Burrito Burger. Whereas I used hamburger patties in mine John’s instead uses turkey sausage. While my version used regular McDonald’s pancakes as the bun, the Pancake Egg Burger uses wheat pancakes in their place. You get the idea… Let’s forget about the differences for a second though. Do you know what the two sandwiches have in common? They were both delicious, but more importantly I was able to eat both of them for lunch instead of breakfast.” w/ photos

Chocolate Covered Fritos

“At first I was a little bummed that each Frito wasn’t completely covered in chocolate until I started eating them and realized that doing so would completely overpower the salty taste of the Fritos with the sweet taste of the chocolate. As they are though the chocolate covered Fritos are the perfect mix of sweet and salty. I’ve tried chocolate covered potato chips before and wasn’t a huge fan. With those the potato chips seemed to get sort of soggy as the chocolate started melting, but I’m happy to report that the chocolate covered Fritos had no problem at all maintaining their crunchiness!” w/ photos

The Clock Stopper Burger

“As you can probably imagine, having two grilled cheese sandwiches in lieu of a bun makes for a pretty tall burger. I actually considered eating one grilled cheese on its own first and then pulling the two pieces of bread from the second one apart and putting the burger patty in between them. Then I came to my senses and realized how silly that would be. If I just wanted a regular burger with a grilled cheese sandwich on the side I could have ordered that, but this was the Clock Stopper; a burger meant to be eaten the exact way they serve it, with one grilled cheese sandwich sitting below the burger patty and a second one resting comfortably on top of it.” w/ photos

Homemade Flatbread Pizza

“I started off by throwing a boneless, skinless chicken breast and an Italian sausage on the grill and frying up some bacon on my stove. Once everything was done cooking I grabbed two of the leftover flatbreads and kept the first one pretty traditional by topping it with pizza sauce, slices of Italian sausage, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. I then covered the second flatbread with Alfredo sauce, chicken, bacon and mozzarella cheese. After 12 minutes in the oven my flatbread pizzas were ready to eat! Not only did these pizzas taste great, but they’d also be a great meal idea for families who all like different toppings.” w/ photos

Deep Fried Butter

“Deep fried butter (at least the stuff served at the fair here in Milwaukee) consists of an entire stick of butter which is cut into five pieces that are then wrapped in wontons, deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. If I can give you one tip if you ever try deep fried butter it’s that biting directly into the middle of one of the pieces is a huge mistake. I did that exact thing when I took my first bite and had the pleasure of warm butter squirting all over my entire arm. Aside from covering myself in butter, though I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that, I absolutely loved the deep fried butter. Seriously, there has to be something wrong with me. No one should actually enjoy this stuff right?” w/ photos

Deep Fried Fruits & Vegetables

“The toughest decision when owning a deep fryer is clearly what to deep fry first. Chicken nuggets? Nope, too easy. Oreo cookies? Already been done. Suddenly an idea came to me. What if I were to take a bunch of foods that were normally thought of as healthy and deep fry those? A few minutes later I was on my way to the grocery store’s produce section where I stocked up on baby carrots, bananas, Granny Smith apples, avocados and a watermelon… Out of all the fruits and vegetables I deep fried that first day the avocado slices were easily my favorite. You know what’s funny though? I expected everything else to taste completely disgusting and it all actually ended up tasting really good. The banana slices got a little soggy, but still tasted fine. Everything else stayed pretty much intact.” w/ photos

Epic Mexican Sandwich

“Hungry? Then look no further than this massive Mexican sandwich.”

Beef Jerky Potato Chips

The brand stresses that these are not beef jerky flavored potato chips, but in fact beef jerky and potato chips in one complete bite. Much like traditional jerky, Cherkees are low-fat, high-protein, and are not fried. They have less than a third the fat of traditional potato chips and 12 grams of protein per serving.” w/ photos
