World’s Most Expensive Pineapple

You’re going to have to be filthy rich if you plan on buying a $13,000 pineapple that was grown in horse manure using Victorian gardening methods. The ‘world’s most expensive’ fruit has also strangely been dumped in horse urine as well as 30 tons of straw and horse droppings. The luxurious crop was matured at Cornwall’s Lost Gardens of Heligan and is one of eight pineapples, each costing $1,500 to grow, that are ready to eat. But anyone who does plan bidding for the $10,000 pineapple will be disappointed as staff at the complex are planning on keeping the special fruit all to themselves.” w/ photos
