“A jet-powered bodyboard looks set to be the future of life guarding. The Kymera Rescue Board appears to be an ordinary bodyboard, but contains an electric motor powered by a lithium ion battery pack that will allow the rider to zip across the waves for around an hour. Californian designer Jason Woods originally created the device for recreational use, but it has attracted interest from search and rescue (SAR) teams and lifeguards.
