Stonehenge Made Entirely From Scrap Cars

A unique Stonehenge replica sculpture has been unveiled to mark the summer solstice – made entirely from scrap cars. The ‘car-henge’ sculpture took self-taught artist Tommy Gun three months to create using 18 scrap cars. The 16ft tall, 36 ton structure is designed to withstand a Force 12 hurricane. But unlike its Neolithic namesake’s mighty stones, the replica sits riverside on London’s South Bank rather than Salisbury Plain. It was erected ahead of the summer solstice – the moment in time when the Sun reaches its northernmost point in the sky – occurring tomorrow night.” w/ photos
