“Bankers baffled locals in a Romanian town – by installing cashpoint machines seemingly intended for little and large customers. One of the ATMs, in Timisoara, is six feet off the ground and people need to bring their own step ladders if they want to get at their money. And at the other end of the scale, just across the road, is another cash machine so low that people have to get on their knees to withdraw cash. The extremes have angered consumer groups in the Romania – named as the main European hub of ATM crime – who accuse the banks of poor service.” w/ photo
