The BedBunker?

American’s fearing a rise in crime during the economic downturn are buying state-of-the-art gun safes hidden inside their beds. The BedBunker weighs a whopping 1,300lbs empty and features locks used in government high security buildings like the Pentagon. Worried homeowners can now store 35 rifles and 70 hand guns underneath them while they sleep. Product inventor and designer John Adrain, from Heracles Research Corporation, said a number of billionaires have begun buying his product. ‘Home invasions are on the rise,’ he said. ‘More people are looking for secure places to store their valuables and weapons. ‘What better place is there to store things than secretly under your bed.” w/ photo

Coolest Paris Doorway

“It is something of a feat to be the coolest example of anything in Paris, which could certainly be a contender for the coolest city in the world regardless. Yet the door which opens up to number 29 Avenue Rapp is, we believe, the coolest door in Paris. See if you agree… Lavirotte’s work is flamboyant to say the least and is perhaps the epitome of the free spirit of the art nouveau movement. It is not surprising that his facade for number 29 won him several prizes when it was built in 1901. Even by the standards of the day, this is lavish.” w/ photos

5-In-1 Kitchen Timer

Cooks know that timing is everything (lest you really like the taste of charred food). Oftentimes, you’ve got several items cooking at once. With the DoneRight Digital Kitchen Timer, you can set up to five separate timers so you can avoid kitchen disasters and create delicious meals headache-free. There are four timers on the top of the DoneRight ‘oven’ which cleverly correspond to the four burners on your stovetop. The fifth timer is located on the front to correspond to your oven. The DoneRight Digital Kitchen Timer is exceptionally easy to use because there are only three buttons per timer: a start/stop button, a +1 minute button, and a +5 minute button. When a timer reaches zero, the DoneRight will flash a light on the corresponding timer as well as sound an alarm.” w/ photos + videos

Top 10 Spectacular Radio Telescopes

“Radio telescopes can be found the world over. They are used in radio astronomy, the science of studying, at radio frequencies, celestial objects such as galaxies and stars as well as more difficult to understand phenomena such as Masers and Pulsars. They also collect and track data from space probes and satellites that we have shot up in to the atmosphere and space. Here are some of the more significant and – in terms of design – beautiful radio telescopes in the world.” w/ photos
